Welcome to the KwaZulu Natal Cat Club Website

The KwaZulu Natal Cat Club (KZNCC) is a “Non-Profit Cat Club” affiliated to the Cat Federation of South Africa (CFSA). The Club holds various cat shows throughout the year in KwaZulu Natal, including shows for CFSA Breed Groups who fall under the auspices of KZNCC and their annual flagship awards, KZNCC Top Cat.

The KZNCC was one of the first Clubs in South Africa to be conceived and become affiliated to the newly formed CFSA in 2001. It has seen many exquisite cats since its first show. Its history is rich with community, passion and of course, CATS!

The KZNCC Committee has undergone a lot of restructuring over the years and boasts a dynamic team of individuals who are committed to building the club and the cat fancy in the province. Our theme for the year is “Community” and we would like to invite all dedicated cat slaves, to give showing a try, get involved and help us grow further.

If you are interested in joining the Committee or helping out at our shows, please contact us to let us know. We are always looking for an extra pair of hands.

Treating the Untreatable – FIP

Feline Infectious Peritonitis has for a very long time been a fatal disease.  The more acute and more virulent form of the disease, wet FIP kills within days to weeks of symptoms showing while the chronic form, dry FIP, may take up to even months.

A Magical Weekend – The KZNCC Triple Cat Show

The KwaZulu Natal Cat Club and its exbhibitors had a bumper weekend with the KZNCC Triple Cat Show from May 12th to 13th. A huge endeavour for the Committee, the team pulled together for months to create a showcase of their exhibitors’ beautiful feline companions.

Join us for KZNCC’s first Triple Cat Show Weekend!

The KwaZulu Natal Cat Club (KZNCC) invites all cat lovers and curious alike; to come and enjoy their cat show taking place; 12 – 13 May 2018 in the beautiful Hillcrest area at Highbury Preparatory School, Durban, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition.

A swollen BELLY? It must be FIP…

FIP remains the one of the most challenging diseases to vets to diagnose.  In the past a cat presenting with a swollen abdomen was always thought to have wet FIP.  We now know that this is a misconception as there is more than a handful of other disease including parasitic infection that can result in a swollen or distended abdomen.
